Bladesingers were elven wizards who practiced the sacred art of bladesinging, an ancient and sacred tradition of fighting that blended swordsmanship, along with other fighting styles, and unique arcane magic.
Fight/Wiz kensai/EK is, for me, the closest thematic match for a true bladesinger in DDO. Bard only has a look-in because of the 'Dancing' skill pre req quite honestly, and nothing is stopping you putting points into perform if it matters that much to you, regardless of class.
Due to the nature of DDO, this can be considered a hard build to play. Fight/Wiz kensai/EK is, for me, the closest thematic match for a true bladesinger in DDO. The variant Half-Elf options in SCAG can also let you swap the 2 skills for different things, probably the most useful for an EK is a free cantrip from the wizard spell list. Since you only get 2 cantrips before level 10, being able to grab Minor Illusion for instance, in addition to Booming Blade and Green-Flame Blade is nice. Unless EK gets it now.

2016-09-06 · EK+Bladesinger works best as a Wizard <6 dip because Extra Attack won't stack, but it can still be worth it because Song of Defense and better spells. The only sure thing is that for such a mix, you have to get Fighter part to at least 11 levels because of three attacks + disadvantage on saving throws. Balance wise, a level 11-12 EK/Level 6-7 Bladesinger who can do 2 weapon attacks and a cantrip isn't going to be breaking the game. This is a combination that can only be reached in tier 4 by dedicating almost every character level to it. So I'd consider this unclear. Bladesinger has a better AC, more defensive spells and at higher levels effectively more hit points.

Many who have observed a bladesinger at work remember the screen as one of the more beautiful experiences in their lifetime, a glorious dance accompanied by a singing blade. If the Bladesinger is not able to get short rests after their Bladesong class ability is out, then you are essentially a Wizard without a subclass.
Keep in mind, bladesinger is just a prestige class. The spirit of it, is that you cast your wizardly spells, in medium armor, no shield using only a rapier or longsword, not dual wielding. You keep putting up dual wielding builds.

I'm currently playing an Eldritch Knight/Bladesinger (4/4). If you reset the EK to arcane archetype and set the Wizard as -- and then change it
Also, if you have more than 2 encounters per day at T1 and more than 3 at T2, then the bladesinger can't use bladesong each encounter. A bladesinger that wades into melee without bladesong is just asking to get pummeled to death.

Wizard: Bladesinging Bladesingers master a tradition of wizardry that incorporates swordplay and dance. Originally created by elves, this tradition has been adopted by non-elf practitioners, who honor and expand on the elven ways.
EK is weighted heavily towards the fighter end of the fighter/mage, but But it would be easier with a class like Paladin, Cleric or Bladesinger If you want spellblade, there are other classes/multiclasses options better than bladesinger. EK-War wizard has great synergy. Can't choose between casting I will admit, for the melee part of the bladesinger to be worthwhile, an MC in AT of EK is pretty mandatory. On top of that, don't forget that it's able to be thrown!
